It’s Time to Organize & Love Your Spaces

Seasonal Cleanout. Purging. Marie Kondo-ing your life.

Whatever term you wish to call it, it all comes down to one simple thought: How did I get so much stuff, and how do I get rid of it all? It’s easy enough to shove that juicer you never use in the back corner kitchen cabinet. And all of that baby or kid gear that is never used anymore? It’s been living in the back of a closet for way too long.

How do people find time to organize their home?

We get it. Organizing your home and doing regular clean outs of what you don’t need any longer is time consuming. You have a life. It’s filled with a dozen other things you would rather be doing than spending hours sifting through old belongings you’d forgotten even existed. The worst part of it all is that every time you do catch a glimpse of those items you put in a dark corner, it makes you feel guilty for either not using them or not getting rid of them.

But as Marie Kondo, author of the best-selling The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up says,

“The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment.”

Can you hire someone to help you organize?

The simple answer is– yes! There’s no need to feel bad about always pushing “closet cleanout” to the very bottom of your to-do list. Let the helping hand of an organizing professional be the “inspiration” (if you can call it that!) you need to check off this task.

Some of our clients ask us to go through closets or basements with them and others have us weed through, sort and organize their belongings so that they can then make the decision to keep or pass items along to someone else or the junk pile.

coordination of the “getting rid phase”

One of the steps that is most helpful to people is our coordination of the “Getting Rid Phase.” That could be picking up items for donation to local charities – home items, construction related leftovers, clothes – or arranging for a junk removal service to come and pick up certain items you no longer want in your home.

We can all relate to having a couple of bags of donations sitting in our spare room for months — never making it out the door. Let Simplified help you with this task and feel great about where you live. Learn about our professional organizing team in Boston.
